Omega 3 oils top the list for recommended daily supplements. Cod Liver Oil is a great one, as you also get some Vitamin D with it. Other sources of omega 3 oils are:
grass fed beef
whey protein drinks made from grass fed cows
walnuts
avocados
wild caught salmon oil and other wild caught fish oils
olive oil
Niacin also raises HDL levels. Food sources for niacin are:
tomatoes
nuts
avocados
liver chicken
beef
If you find it easier, take about 500 mg. of niacin daily.
Exercise is crucial. Almost any kind you like will do, if you learn how to pace it for high intensity, short duration, increasing your exertion gradually.
Why raise your HDL levels?
Because HDL removes plaque from your arteries. Cholesterol is not the source of artery blockages, heart disease or heart attacks. It is the plaque build up and the lack of its removal that is the problem.
So, making sure that you get daily nutritional supplements
